[xvi] 561 fol (= 1122p), title in red and black, Verbum Dei Manet in AEternum abbreviation on title, woodcut with Luther in front of the Cross on title, followed by frontisp with three heraldically presented gentlemen and poem ("Des Luthers Buecher gross und klein…"), title page shows marginal deletion of stamp or name in nasty black ink, bound in contemporary full vellum over wooden boards, one old clasps with nice brass work present and (probably) working, cover elaborately blindstamped, centrally an armorial element, cover dated 1593 [sic] and lettered I F S on front, "Wer mich erkennt vor dieser welt/ den will ich bekennen vor meinem Vater", binding work includes decorative series of small heads (with various hats), 5 bands on spine, text clean but paper browning in many sections, minor wear and discolouration to cover, last page with corrections in small print, date transcribed from colophon, a well preserved copy of the first collected edition of Luthers writings, this is the first volume in the fifth printing, some ancient marginal marks and underlinings. [xvi] 529 fol (= 1058p), title in red and black, Verbum Dei Manet in AEternum abbreviation on title, woodcut with Luther in front of the Cross on title, followed by frontisp with three heraldically presented gentlemen (this page shows marginal deletion of stamp or name in nasty black ink), bound in contemporary full vellum over wooden boards, two old clasps present and working with nice brass work, cover elaborately blindstamped, including elements of lettering around portraits reading De Fruc Ventris. Principatur et, W F C, Apparui Peniet, also David (with harp), Achap / Acral, Aulo, Iosua, 4 bands on spine, a minor trace of humidity (?) visible on top edge but not affecting pages, a well preserved copy of the first collected edition of Luthers writings, this is the second volume of this collection, ("Tomus 2" on spine), printer's corrections in small print on last page, some ancient marginal marks and underlinings.
